Although public corporations have been a part of our national life, they remain basically unproductive and obscure in the general policy approach toward national development, a status they no doubt find convenient. While toiling in obscurity, they manage communication, power generation, airport and seaport, petroleum, agriculture, housing and insurance. Public Corporations remain an important partner in reconstituting Liberia’s economy and in many ways the bedrock for economic stimulus. I am confident that Six Sigma can play an important role of reducing variations and defects in various processes and improve operational excellence at all levels.

Marching On To Success
Honoring A Busy Mother

By Gabriel Gworlekaju

Jatoe Bestman Sapee, a long time family friend of this website's CEO will not only be among millions across the United States who will be graduating with college degrees this year. She will be among those highly successful and busy mothers who have made the sacrifice to continue their education while facing the difficult life of raising toddlers, especially two high energy boys as in the case of Jatoe.

She is more than happy this weekend of May 6, 2006 to be graduating with two separate Bachelors degrees from Brenau University in Georgia, in addition to other great achievements she has made since moving to the United States.

We are paying this respect to Jatoe today because she is not only among those who avail themselves as multitask performers, she refused to let one task weigh her down from performing the other.

Daughter of the late Col. James P. Bestman and Ms. Ida Ceasar of Liberia, Jatoe Bestman Sapee completed her high school education in Liberia, came to the United States and joined the Army as a reservist, then went on to serve on active duty. While in the US army, she attended St. Louis Community College in Missouri and graduated with an Associate degree.

None of this stopped Jatoe from giving birth to two boys, Funetee and Kapelee, aged 4 and 5 respectively. She is married to Mr. Francis Sapee, also a native of Liberia.

In a brief conversation with Mrs. Sapee, she told me she will be graduating Friday, May 5, 2006 from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia with two separate Bachelor degrees. She preferred not to tell me her areas of discipline, but indicated that she will be heading out for her Masters this fall.

Jatoe is well known within the Liberian community in Atlanta, GA and is seen as one who is very sociable and receptive. Her doors are always opened to family and friends just as they will be this weekend for the graduation party.
