In its nomination citation addressed to the Chief Executive Office Mr. Gabriel Gworlekaju, the Liberia Image Award, LIA said, " we are sincerely honored and proud to say that you have been nominated in your field of Online Media an Image Award for Online News website of the year"

The nominating citation to the African Media Network further said, "Your accomplishments and achievement parallel and reinforce the theme of our event and the mission of our organization. You are a testimony to the country of Liberia. We look forward to your presence at this momentous occasion, where you will be recognized and honored before a group of your peers and young ambitious Liberian individuals."

The LIA's 1st Annual Awards Banquet is expected to he held in Bethesda, MD on August 30, 2008, at which time recognization and honoring of Running African-WRAR-96 will take place. The theme of this year’s event is "embrace & inspire creativity in the Liberian Community to uplift its global and positive image"

The AMN Executive Mr. Gworlekaju further asserted that the preferment indicates that the LIA organization has joined many others around the world "in recognizing our role in preserving the arts and cultures of Liberia. We accept the honor in good faith and will use it to forge ahead with more of what we have accomplished"

Running Africa was selected in an online survey as the 2006 Liberian Web News media of that Year. That survey was conducted by the European based Liberian Online website.

The Running Africa-WRAR-96 is a Top Rated Liberian owned Internet Website and Radio Station based in Atlanta, GA and operated by Liberian media professionals to help to bridge the Information gap.

Three other Liberian websites have been nominated for this award including the Observer, Frontpage Africa and TLC Africa.

Individuals nominated are Messers Kwame Clement, Morris Koffa, Sayruwa Soumah and Geebah Swaray and will receive awards for excellence in journalism, Lifetime Achievement, Humanitarian and Music respectively.
